Julia has lived and worked abroad for much of her life, UK for five years and the West Coast of the USA, California and Seattle for thirteen years. She is qualified in Montessori and Steiner education and has worked in early childhood for several years in Steiner influenced settings. She has a degree in Fine Art and design from Crawford College of Art, Cork.
Julia has a particular interest in disciplines that tend to favour thinking ‘outside the box’ – looking at the big picture and seeing the whole person, physical, spiritual and emotional. Her focus is on building strong foundations, early intervention, supporting gentle enhancement tools for mind body connection. Some of her ongoing studies are with Assistant Occupational Therapy, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Feldenkrais movement, HANDLE (Holistic Approach to Neuro Developmental and Learning Efficiency), ‘Herbs’ in the Wise Woman Tradition’ and wholefoods, as in the Weston A. Price Foundation.
Julia began experimenting with sensory products when an occupational therapist friend approached her – as she was having difficulty sourcing suitable products locally. Julie began applying her skill and knowledge in the area of early intervention and the business developed from there through word of mouth and OT recommendations.
